Good old Mfolozi

The Mfolozi area of KZN must be one of the only pieces of bushveld in SA that has never been farmed. It is a huge tract of land near Richards Bay that was proclamed many years ago. I went there as a very little person when my folks arrived in the country years ago but have not been there since.  Tracey booked us into Mpila for four days.  What a time we had. It was early Spring and the Weaping Boerboons (Schotia brachypetala) were in full flower with their beautiful red flowers standing out against the dry bushveld. We arrived in the middle of the day, unpacked ad went for a drive in the southern section of the park. Here are a few photographs of the game drive on the first
